Dictionary of American Negro Biography. (Inscribed by John Hope Franklin and Benjamin Quarles)
An excellent association copy….
First edition, so stated. A fine association, inscribed by two eminent African American historians, Benjamin Quarles and John Hope Franklin, to a collector in 1985 and 1986. Though the Dictionary of American Negro Biography has been superseded in some respects by later works, it remains a landmark publication, containing 700 entries on prominent African Americans and retaining lasting research value. An excellent copy.
