1936 typed and signed postcard from Jim Dolan of Valdez, Alaska; hunter, trapper, guide.
—
A brief commercial reply concerning the sender’s available skins, noting they are in prime condition and suitable for rugs, and remarking that black squirrels are not found in the area. Jim Dolan advertised in various sporting magazines as being a registered guide for Spring or Fall Hunts on Alaska Peninsula and and a seller of bearskins and sealskins. Dolan writes: “Dear Sir: I have your card asking about my skins and am enclosing full information on them all. You would like them I am sure for they are all in prime condition and make nice rugs. Write again. We do not have black squirrels up here. Never heard of them. Yours truly, Jim Dolan.”
