Rebecca Emeline Hallett (Mrs. Robert Hooton Richie), Quaker: Circa 1920s Original Pencil Portraits.
—
Two original pencil portraits, believed to be of Rebecca Emeline Hallett (1904–1995), a Quaker born in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, and educated at the Friends School in Wilmington, Delaware. Likely drawn in her late teens or early twenties, the portraits may predate her 1925 marriage to Robert Hooton Richie (1904–1971), of Moorestown, New Jersey. Richie was the son of Edward Laurence Richie, was 31 and his mother, Anna Bailey Shoemaker. Hallett later settled in Kentucky, where she died in 1995.
