The Task, A Poem, in six books. By William Cowper, of the Inner Temple, Esquire. To which is prefixed, a brief account of the author’s life.
—
This copy of this oft-reprinted classic with the early ownership signatures of H.M. Perrine, possibly a Reverend, and Gertrude Wells (1830). The engraved, captioned plates are especially attractive. The Albany printing form of Whiting, Backus & Whiting published the Albany Centenil newspaper, ultimately sold to Isaac Mitchell. (McMurtrie)
