Circular of the State Board of Health of Delaware. Sanitary Survey of School-House.

Public health survey of 48 questions posed to the teachers of Delaware on “the condition of school-houses and the physical care of school children.” The State Board of Health seeks data on the physical conditions of school buildings and the hygiene conditions within them. The questions concern size of classrooms, heating and ventilation, amounts of natural light, how often cleaned and disinfected, the water supply, and the presence and conditions of toilets.

Additional questions concern near-sightedness, window blinds, hand and face washing facilities, enforcement of vaccination laws, and the exclusion of “pupils from families where infectious or contagious diseases are prevailing.”
