The American Negro. Old World Background and New World Experience.

An excellent copy. This edition is a part of the “Houghton Mifflin History Program” series. Co-author Rayford W. Logan, an African-American historian and advocate of Pan-Africanism, had a long tenure as a history professor at Howard University. He served on FDR’s “Black Cabinet” and drafted the language for Roosevelt’s executive order prohibiting the exclusion of African Americans from the military during World War II.
