It covers life in Matopo, the education of the author’s children, and then a transition from Matopo to Wanezi. Sider’s account emphasizes his relationships with African friends and recounts weekends at Lubuze and other “outstation experiences,” including the the Mtshabezi Outstation. The text continues with experiences in Sikalongo and Macha, another furlough to America, and a return to Africa.
