Major Gordon W. Lille, “Pawnee Bill”. [Circa 1909 postcard]

“Pawnee Bill,” started his Wild West career with Buffalo Bill Cody in 1883. He later created “Pawnee Bill’s Wild West” with his wife May Manning. Despite initial financial struggles, he gained recognition by leading the Boomer Movement into Oklahoma in 1889. This led to a successful show, “Pawnee Bill’s Historical Wild West,” and a later collaboration with Buffalo Bill Cody in 1908, forming “Buffalo Bill’s Wild West and Pawnee Bill’s Great Far East.”
