Ca. 1868–1870s photograph of the Saratoga Seltzer Spring Water Co. springhouse in Saratoga Springs, New York.
—
The Saratoga Seltzer Spring Water Co. was founded ca. 1868 by the children of Henry W. and Caroline Livingston and their son-in-law, Johnston Livingston.
This photograph by W.H. shows the front of a large two-story brick spring-house and its entrance porch. The name of the business is on the brick below the cornice. Men and women stand out front or are seated in horse-drawn buggies. Other buildings are seen on the left, up a hill.
Sipperly established his photographic studio in Schuylersville, New York, in the 1850s, and later expanded to Saratoga and Mechanicsville. He later moved to Vermont.
