Inscribed and signed by Samuel Farmar Jarvis (1786–1851), Yale graduate, bibliophile, noted historian of the Episcopal Church and consecrated bishop. Jarvis later became embroiled in one of the most scandalous divorce cases in nineteenth-century America. [Sold with:] A second copy of the same title, but in variant pale orange printed wrappers; this copy in good-only condition.
