Association copy inscribed by Jean Garrigue to Odell Shepard: “For Odell Shepherd [sic] with admiration and appreciation / Jean Garrigue.” First edition, first printing of this Indiana-author’s first solo book. Shepard taught English at Trinity College and won the Pulitzer for his 1937 biography Louisa May Alcott’s father, Bronson Alcott. 900 copies were bound in cloth and produced by Carroll Coleman at the Prairie Press in Iowa City. (Cheever 81). With erratum slip laid in.
