Autobiographical memoir of Quaker minister, John S. Stokes (1808–1892). Stokes was active in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, especially among Orthodox Quakers of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He traveled twice to Ohio Yearly Meeting. Stokes’ memoir gives a detailed chronological account of his ministry from 1863 until his death including descriptions of meetings for worship and the sermons preached there. He was the editor of The Friend, a Wilburite-Orthodox periodical.
