Rare Philadelphia-based religious text by this interesting individual. An English émigré, Thomas T. Tasker (1799–1892) was a cattle-breeder, inventor, Methodist Episcopal preacher, and publisher of the Christian Standard and Home Journal, and creator or agent of the “National Publishing Association for the Promotion of Holiness.”  Tasker Street in Philadelphia is named for him.
