Collection of five speeches by politicians, lawyers, and a clergyman on the controversial proposal to “repatriate” Black Americans to Africa, delivered at a meeting of the Maryland State Colonization Society in Annapolis in 1838. The speakers were Hon. Richard Thomas, Hon. William H. Tuck, J.H. Culbreth, Esq., Wm. F. Giles, Esq., and Rev. Robert J. Breckinridge.
