American Negro Slave Revolts.

Classic study of African American slave revolts by Marxist historian Herbert Aptheker whose master’s thesis examined Nat Turner’s 1831 slave rebellion in Virginia.  Following several introductory chapters, the book is a chronological study of slave revolts from a 1526 revolt in a Spanish colonial settlement in what is now South Carolina up to the American Civil War including Gabriel Prosser’s “Plot” of 1800 and Denmark Vesey’s failed revolt of 1822.
