Practical Hints for Investors.

Printed the following month after the Great Crash of 1929

Auspiciously printed the following month after the Great Crash of 1929. A handsome example of this entry-level investment “how-to” book for those seeking to build up their estate through prudent investment strategies. Laid in with this copy, is a single sheet soliciting the purchase of another Barron’s title, Ten Rules for Investors. Missouri-native and author, Walker Van Riper (1887-1960) was graduated from Yale, taught banking and investments between 1914 to 1915 at Colorado College, and then was involved in investment banking and analysis in Denver from 1915 until his 1943 retirement. Very scarce in publisher’s dust jacket.
