1925 Book of technical specifications for grading, cutting, and fabricating Southern pine lumber for construction and architectural use. The illustrated booklet was prepared by the Southern Pine Association based in New Orleans.

Lumber defects, such as checks, knots, and pitch pockets, are discussed as are such topics as dressed sizing, grading, finishing, and moulding and shipping concerns. An introductory index refers users to such architectural topics as barn siding, ceilings, door jambs, flooring, joists, plastering laths, pickets, shingles, etc.

Measured technical schematic drawings provide specifications for tongue-and-groove flooring and partition lumber, ceilings, shiplap, splines, barn siding, roofing, “Byrkit Lath,” drop siding, etc. The booklet also offers for sale two styles of lumber gauges and a “Standard Caliper Rule,” each approved by the Southern Pine Association.
