First edition of this Texas leaf book, limited to 64 hand-numbered copies; this being #50. Autographed by John Jenkins and with an original leaf from the first edition of W.W. Heartsill’s great 1876 Texas-Confederate rarity, Fourteen Hundred and 91 Days in the Confederate Army. The leaf inserted into this copy’s pocket is for pages 249 (displaying the “Muster Roll, of the W.P. Lane Rangers”) and 250.

Inscribed by the book’s designer, Steve Schuster, to his wife: “For Kit, my first major book design. Love, Steve”.  Schuster was a Texas academic, author, printer, book designer and Quoin Press publisher. He was well known to collectors, scholars and dealers interested in Texiana.
