Study of eight forts erected between the Red and Rio Grande Rivers after the Mexican-American War, with a full-page color illustration of each fort by Fort Worth artist, Melvin C.Warren. This copy presented to Dallas attorney Henry C. Coke, Jr. by future Texas governor Bill Clements who served from 1979 to 1983 and again from 1987 to 1991. Coke’s name is stamped in gilt on the upper cover.
