Thoughts on the housing and display of the John G. Johnson Collection of 1,200 European paintings bequeathed to the City of Philadelphia in 1917. A one-page Typed Letter Signed by the author is laid in soliciting the opinion of Mrs. Edward W. Biddle of Philadelphia’s Civic Club: “I believe that the public opinion has not had an opportunity to express itself on this subject, and am therefore sending copies of this statement to about three hundred representative citizens, with the request that they will express their views…” The collection is now at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
