An ephemeral record of the brief, exploited lives of the Fairy Sisters, two diminutive performers often touted as the smallest persons in the world. The sisters toured New England in 1872 and 1873.

The Fairy Sisters, Catherine Foster (“Cassie” 1865–1875) and Victoria Foster (1871–1874), are here described in a small handbill, (3¾ x 3 inches): “The smallest of Lilliputian and the greatest of Musical prodigies….”

This promotional group was used by Fred A. Pickering of Boston, Massachusetts, agent for the Fairy Sisters and whose business card is included. The printed ephemera also includes a blank exhibition contract.
