A collection of 15 poems by Gwendolyn Brooks, the first Black author to win the Pulitzer Prize in any category.  Brooks used the sizable influence of her writings and stature to aid in the fight against anti-Black racism. This title was published by the David Company of Chicago, founded by Brooks.
