Speech of Hon. John M. Broomall, of Pennsylvania, on the Civil Rights Bill; delivered in the House of Representatives, March 8, 1866.

Rare Reconstruction imprint, a speech by anti-slavery Pennsylvania Congressman John M. Broomall. He spoke out several times in Congress in early 1866 on matters concerning Reconstruction and the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. Here, Broomall argues for citizenship for former Confederate rebels and recently emancipated slaves. OCLC reports only one copy with this imprint.
