Years Are So Long. A Novel.

“Are children morally obligated to support their parents?”

The basis for Leo McCarey’s 1937 film Make Way For Tomorrow, starring Victor Moore and Beulah Bonndi, this early reprinting has distinct artwork from the first trade edition. Five children grapple with the difficult decisions and burdens of who, if any, will be care-givers to their elderly parents. Questions such as “What do I owe my parents?” and “Should my children or my parents come first?” or “Do I have to support my parents?” are themes within the book that are as relevant today as they were when the book was first published.
