“Sprague seriously attacks the efforts of removal of the Cherokee’s. Stating the treaties were made with them for their protection. He was not sure how they would subsist in a new and dangerous land. From 1785 to 1819 the United States negotiated 15 treaties with the Cherokee Indians.” (Jenkins)
