[Aroostook War:] Message from The President of the United States, Transmitting all the Correspondence Between the United States and Great Britain on the Subject of the Northeastern Boundary, in Compliance with a Resolution of the Senate. March 21, 1838.


Concerns events up until this time pertaining to the Aroostook War, a.k.a., “The Pork and Beans War.” Maine and the United Kingdom feuded over establishing an international boundary line between Maine and the British Colony of New Brunswick. An actual “war” never occurred and the matter was eventually settled with The Webster–Ashburton Treaty of 1842.
