Scarce, with map executed by James Thackara (1767-1848), Philadelphia engraver. Cartouche title: “A Map of Pennsylvania Delaware New Jersey & Maryland, with the Parts adjacent.”  Between Alexandria and Bladensburg, the map shows “Federal City” —the nation’s Capitol. Towns, cities and geographical details found within the boundaries of Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania are well-articulated.

PBA: “One of the earliest American works entirely devoted to canals in which the author advocates the advancement of navigable communication between the states in the Northeast, South, and Midwest, extolling the advantages for trade in manufactured and agricultural goods.” Rink attributes this pamphlet to Turner Camac. It has also been ascribed to William Blodget.

The first copy to come up at auction, in over 35 years, sold in 2019 for just over $800. That copy was in modern cloth, its map was torn, and the title-page had an owner’s stamp.
