Wingate Todd, Caroline L. Shanks, James Hugo Johnston, Luther Porter Jackson, Ben N. Azikiwe [Nnamdi Azikiwe], W. Sherman Savage, William Renwick Riddell, Eugene Portlette Southall, Leo H. Hirsch, Jr., and Rayford W. Logan.

From the library of Charles H. Wesley (1891–1987), with his bookplate. He would later serve as Director of Research and Publications for the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History which published the Journal of Negro History. Wesley was an author, historian, long-time Howard University professor, and President of Wilberforce University (HBCU). His bookplate was designed by Black artist James A.
