Felcone 316: The author “‘Livingston,’ argues against the appeal made to the legislature by the Trenton and New Brunswick Turnpike Company for permission to lay rails on its road and to compete with the joint Delaware and Raritan Canal and Camden and Amboy Rail Road and Transportation companies in New Jersey.” Felcone suggests the author may Garret Dorset Wall (1783-1850) —“A distinguished New Jersey lawyer, judge, and legislator, Wall was also a director of the joint companies and one of its most articulate spokesmen.”
