A definitive study of the HBUC Cheyney State founded by Philadelphia silversmith Richard Humphreys in 1832, first founded as the Institute for Colored Youth. Like almost all of University Microfilms reprints, this book is essentially a bound xeroxed copy; it publishes Conyers’ thesis in its entirety.
