Yonkers, Westchester County, New York tavern-keeper’s bond issued to Caleb Smith and John Williams. Smith is particularly enjoined to ensure that the inn or tavern shall not “...be disorderly, or suffer any cock-fighting, gaming, or playing with cards or dice, or keep any billiard table, or any other gaming table within the tavern…or in any out-house, yard, or garden, belonging thereto…” The document is signed by Smith and Williams. It is additionally signed by the Commissioners of Excise (who approve the surety of the bond): Caleb Smith (again), Supervisor, and Thaddeus Rockwell, Christian Dederer Jr., and O.C. Denstone, Justices.
