[1837 Autograph Note Signed by Jerome-Napoleon Bonaparte of Baltimore, American nephew of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte].


Brief note by Jerome-Napoleon Bonaparte (1805–1870) to Maryland politician John Spear Nicholas concerning the foreclosure of a mortgage. Bonaparte’s mother and Baltimore native, Elizabeth Patterson Bonaparte, had been married married to Jérôme-Napoléon Bonaparte, the brother of French Emperor Napoléon Bonaparte. Jerome-Napoleon Bonaparte of Baltimore was raised in the United States and was a Harvard-trained lawyer, farmer and, chairman of the Maryland Agricultural Society.
