A Chosen Vessel. [Women Baltimore Authors]

Unrecorded in OCLC, a presentation copy, inscribed and signed, of this slim juvenile parable written by a little-known Baltimore author. Another book by Foster of similar length, also a Baltimore imprint, is noted on the title-page, The True Possession (1907). Both were presumably vanity publications.

An online record for a 1911 to 1912 meeting minutes for the Women’s Literary Club of Baltimore notes Foster and her published juvenile Ray’s Reward. She may also be the same woman named as the Editor-In-Chief of the Bryn Mawr Alumnae Quarterly, Class of 1915.

The front wrap, title-page and final text leaf have attractive cuts reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts period.
