An examination of President Abraham Lincoln’s familial, marital, and sympathetic ties to the American South and Southern viewpoints by Civil War historian, Lincoln biographer, and University of Illinois professor, J.G. Randall (1881–1953).  Prof. Randall’s text was first presented in 1945 as the eighth of the Fleming Lecture series at Louisiana State University, subsequently published by them as Lincoln and the South (1946).
