Certificate or “Award of Merit” presented by Philadelphia’s Home for Aged and Infirm Colored Persons to that city’s Tuscan Morning Star Lodge, an African American Freemasonic organization, and its Worshipful Master, Dr. Harold Taylor.

The lodge was recognized for its contributions to and services on behalf of a $50,000 rehabilitation fund for the Home for Aged and Infirm Colored Persons, an organization started in 1864.
