Trade card for Mr. A.W. Scott of Boston, spiritualist and “magnetic healer.” From his Washington Street establishment, Scott offered “Hot Salt Baths for Cure of Rheumatism, Neuralgia, Liver, Kidney, and other Diseases.” Private sittings were available.

An article in the first issue of the spiritualist (and pseudo-science) magazine Facts (Boston, 1882) recounts an 1881 psychic discovery of a lost dog he made and describes him as “...a medium and magnetic physician, of Providence, formerly of Boston…” (p27)
