A Tip to Florida Tourists…a Visit to the Silver Springs Seminole Indian Village Museum and Exhibit… [advertising card]

“Be sure to bring your camera”

Small advertising card promoting the Silver Springs Seminole Indian Village Museum and Exhibit. This curious Florida tourist ephemeron describes the museum and exhibit as “...strangely primitive and one of the queerest spots of interest a civilized person is permitted to enter.”

The verso of the card lists 15 “strange facts” about the Seminole Indian community, eight of which are marked in manuscript for special consideration, either as recommendation to see or as a souvenir of a visit. Many comment on their costume and four focus on “Seminole squaws.” Further objectifying them is the admonition: “Be sure to bring your camera.”
