Unrecorded and modestly illustrated broadside celebrating Lincoln’s birthday at 100 years. Lincoln was born near Hodgenville, Kentucky in 1809. Here, at Lincoln University, the activities acknowledging this historical date marker commenced at 3pm and went into the evening. On hand was Lincoln University president John B. Rendall, D.D. and students providing such orations as “The Need of a Lincoln Today” and “Abraham Lincoln—His Arch of Human Rights”.

In the evening, the orchestra and choir continued and the poem “Lincoln and His Veterans” composed by the Rev. Henry C. McCook was read aloud. The final address was given by the Rev. W.Y. Brown of Philadelphia.
