A Scarce Philadelphia Bradford “Pocket” Almanac

Handsome copy of a pre-Revolutionary War Philadelphia almanac. A few scattered manuscript notations throughout including “28th [August] to dress my hair by the Month @ 15/ Saturday Imploy’d Joe,” a possible reference to an African American barber, “Sunday [August] 29 Mr. & Mrs. Penn arrived”, a possible reference to the newly re-appointed Governor John Penn, the last governor of colonial Pennsylvania, and “sat. 12th Dec. return’d from Virginia.”

As desirable a copy as one could want.
