Exciting Fruit Gifts from Mission Pak in California.
C.1952 trade catalog of fresh and candied California fruit and nuts for the Christmas and holiday market
C.1952 Christmas catalog of fresh and candied California fruit and nuts from pioneering fruit sellers and marketers Mission Pak of Los Angeles. Founded in 1917, the company here celebrates its 35th anniversary by offering its wares to home consumers and to their beloved family members serving in the military in the U.S. and overseas during the holiday season.
Products sold here include glazed fruits; fresh fruit baskets; spiced figs, peaches, and apricots; Eureka walnuts; brandied dates; and combination packs. Fresh fruits crates were available with apples, grapefruits, “Padre” avocados, and oranges. The company also promoted its “Monthly Fruit Club” which delivered various fruit crates throughout the year, (including peaches and pears), beginning with a fresh fruit basket with nuts and candied fruits in December. The company also sold fruit cakes and orchids.
A slip laid into the catalog offers “Special Selections for Men in Service in the U.S. and Overseas.” These glazed fruit packs and fruit cakes were “...especially able to stand rough handling that overseas shipments sometimes get.”
