Scarce 1884 Souvenir album with town views and local scenery of Palatka, Florida, the county seat of Putnam County. Often seen in poor condition, this copy of the view book is in very good order. Its fold-out panel of 12 illustrations from photographs by Louis Glaser’s lithographic process depicts scenery along the St. Johns River and its tributary, the Ocklawaha River.
Views include Hart’s Orange Grove and Garden; the Larkin House and Sanford House hotels; and scenes in Silver Spring, Enterprise, Winter Park, Maitland, and Orlando. A note on the final panel states that Telfair Stockton of Jacksonville was the sole agent of this view book.

Short separation at one panel fold; light soiling in some margins; printed silver borders on each panel rubbed; overall, very good.
