An unrecorded privately printed invitation to eliminate stammering

Found in two copies, charming self-promotional book, with related ephemera laid in, promoting the skills of a Pittsburgh-based speech therapist during the First World War. The book and related leaflets very much have an Arts and Crafts style feel about them.

The Lamb School credo: “Five distinct divisions constitute the training; namely, breathing, vocalization, articulation, the relation of mind to matter, and the moral attitude toward normal speech.”

The presentation, the solicitation, to send one’s child to The Lamb School is well-oiled and elegant; even the fee structure is presented in pleasing typography with modest ornamentation. There’s a little bit of Elbert Hubbard and his Roycrofters here. Rare and unrecorded, an unusual topic to find, so expressed in this manner and with related ephemera.
