Doctoral dissertation by physician Edwin M’Call, from the southern state of Georgia, submitted to the trustees and medical faculty of the University of Pennsylvania. M’Call (sometimes in the record as McCall¹) is identified here as chairman of the Philadelphia Medical Society.

M’Call investigates the physiology of the human body including secretory vessels, bodily fluids, and excretory system. He presents a few case studies and examines issues relating to nutrition and the sensory organs.

A Georgian, M’Call dedicates his dissertation to his preceptors Drs. Lemuel Kollock (1766–1823) and William Parker of Savannah.

Marin with the [Go?]od wishes of the Author.” Brief annotation on title page; minor foxing; very good.
