[De Luxe Binding:] The New Testament of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ… [and] The Book of Psalms…
1857 American publisher’s de luxe red morocco bookbinding
Remarkably fresh, American publisher’s de luxe bookbinding with bright gilt decoration and a woman’s ownership inscription. The red morocco hand-volume—a combination New Testament and Psalter—was owned, according to the inscription, by “Mary Heimhilger, New Bremen, Lewis County, State of New York.”
Beautiful example of an ante-bellum American publisher’s de luxe bookbinding.
