An unusual nineteenth-century American broadside advertising the raffling in a parlor billiard hall of “Billy Wise,” a trotter horse. We have yet to identify “Billy Wise”and the “Parlor Billiard Hall” —also known as the “Parlor.” Trotting was a popular in the northern and western states.

The broadside is printed on “flint” paper. This paper predominantly used in America during the 1850s–1860s and also up into the late nineteenth-century.
